Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Multi Asset Associate Investment Specialist.

Principal Responsibilities
  • In coordination with the Senior Investment Specialist, provide support to the evolution of product capabilities (e.g. fund launches, re-organization etc.)
  • Maintain good understanding of competitive positioning to provide regular feedback on key competitors and market trends
  • Keep track of regulatory changes which impact on investment funds and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for reactions.
  • Provide regular written portfolio strategy commentary for use in client reports / fact sheets, according to pre-agreed deadlines
  • Be capable of explaining the funds' investment process, views and positions
  • Deliver effective written client communication to targeted client segments
  • Understand how our process differs from key competitors
  • In coordination with the Senior Investment Specialist, provide topical market and strategy updates to sales teams on a regular basis
  • Provide timely comments on the fund's performance and ensure pro-active communication is made in case of a "market event" or strategy update
  • Proactively communicate sales ideas propositions and investment opportunities
  • Update marketing materials and contribute to RFPs

Requirements
  • Experience in an investment, sales or Investment Specialist role
  • Experience in client facing activities
  • Knowledge of multi-asset investment capabilities
  • Experienced practitioner with relevant post degree investment qualification
  • CFA or equivalent post degree investment qualification or willingness to take the exams
  • Highly motivated and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Travel within Asia and cross border may be required
  • Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin & English
