Position Description:

We are looking to add to our Software Development team and hire a dedicated Python Developer to continue to evolve our trade generation platform. Over the past twelve months we have delivered on a variety of pivotal initiatives that have been well received by the business and ultimately led to increased appetite and cadence of new initiatives and problems to seek! You will be joining a lean, proactive yet collaborative team with a track record of outsized impact.

In this role you will partner with senior stakeholders and developers across the organisation crafting and implementing a wide variety of business focused solutions, developing improvements for existing applications and participating in support.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a strategic suite of applications on the trading floor; work on projects with visible business impact;
  • Craft the design and implementation of our next-generation order generation system. This system is used daily across various desks to automate trading tasks including but not limited to: portfolio rebalancing, opportunistic switch trade idea generation and portfolio yield enhancement;
  • Learn and contribute to the development of our portfolio optimization technology
  • Contribute across our entire application stack back-end and front-end (the team is relatively self-sufficient);


Position Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in a STEM / Computer Science related field
  • Expertise in Python;
    • Experience writing production-ready code (clean, simple, testable, etc…)
    • Experience with code archaeology (studying poorly documented legacy code, refactoring, and decommissioning). As our project grows we will be consolidating business functionality on our strategic platform, this implies bringing business functionality from various legacy applications onto our platform
  • 3+ years of professional software development and market structure knowledge;
    • Ideally, experience in designing and developing solutions for electronic trading systems
  • Product owner mind-set in every task; we are hesitant to do tech for the sake of tech
  • Experience and appetite to work with colleagues with a mathematical & quant background
  • Thrive in solving problems with code whilst holding a proactive and collaborative demeanour
