  • With a focus on specialist investments, you will be working with a range of interesting investment strategies including secured finance (ABS / RMBS etc.), absolute return, EM debt, multi-asset etc.
  • The Head of Performance and Manager of this Team will focus on both your personal and professional development, and you will be encouraged to build really strong and effective working relationships with investment, sales, quant and other related departments within this market leading asset manager, thereby, further developing your all round knowledge base and future career advancement opportunities
  • This is very much a proactive role that will suit a results orientated person with a logical mind. Key involvement in system and process enhancing related projects will be part of the role offering further development opportunities
  • Processes continue to evolve, and, with the complexity of some of the asset classes Excel continues to be utilized heavily, although your assistance and insight into streamlining such tasks would be hugely valued
  • With oversight of an off-shored team in India, you will develop further leadership qualities and also be able to focus on really impactful and meaningful performance analysis
  • You will be required to take a lead in automating the analysis and be excited about working with developers to help facilitate this

Non exhaustive list of specific duties include (and are not limited to):
  • Assist in the setup of all newly traded securities within the securities database
  • Assist in the reconciliation of the funds NAV's on a daily basis
  • Production, analysis and communication of daily summary performance and risk numbers
  • Provide detailed explanations to fund managers on performance and risk numbers
  • Ensure that queries are investigated appropriately and resolved satisfactorily within specified timeframes.
  • Foster and maintain successful relationships between the team, its stakeholders and our outsourced providers.
  • Maintain strong and regular contact with fund managers. Building trust and strong relationships with the fund managers and product specialists is key to the success of this role.
  • Identify performance & risk measurement/analysis requirements and determine appropriate solutions to deliver them.
  • Pro-active analysis and monitoring of performance & risk output to identify issues and sources of success.
  • Oversight and direction of systems used in the generation or dissemination of daily performance & risk information.

Your Experience:
  • Be an experienced and ambitious candidate with broad middle office operations experience, with demonstrable experience focused on Performance Analysis work
  • The complexity and the breadth of asset class exposure within this role will be attractive and motivating, however, it is the potential growth in responsibility, visibility and stature that should be equally as attractive
  • You will have a strong record of academic achievement, with a numerate / finance related degree from a well-respected University
  • Possess a logical mind with the ability and desire to learn and pick things up quickly
  • Have an eye on process automation and possess strong IT skills along with a logical, enquiring and "solutions" focused mind
  • Demonstrate a key interest in the evolving financial services world, with a thirst for knowledge around alternative investment strategies. CFA / CAIA qualification relevant and beneficial
  • It is important that you have significant experience of performance analytics / attribution from the buy-side / service provider, where you can demonstrate technical performance knowledge and experience
  • Actually, experience from an asset servicing business would be very welcome!
  • Understanding of a wide range of instrument types would be advantageous, although equity and debt key
  • Be able to demonstrate skills in the questioning and challenging of processes and methodologies
  • Strong client relationship management/development skills
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Operates with professionalism, honesty and integrity at all times
  • Advanced excel spreadsheet skills and data manipulation experience required with some experience of Access databases desirable
