The Role:
The Rating Analyst supports and assists the analytical team in all aspects of the ratings process. The candidate would be involved in collecting data, analytics, and publishing, including, with limited supervision:

The Career Opportunity:
A qualified Rating Analyst typically conducts surveillance on a small portfolio. He/she also supports new transactions by doing financial modeling and credit analysis to arrive at a recommended rating outcome using our criteria methodology and reviewed by a credit committee. Key responsibilities include managing independently a list of rated companies and completing with a team new credit rating assignments. A high performing Rating Analyst is likely to be considered for modeling more complex financial transactions. We prepare our most successful Rating Analysts to become our future lead analysts in our rating committees.

The Team / The Business:
When you join S&P Global' s Finance Ratings team, you join one of the world's leading providers of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. You are part of a team that produces high quality fundamental research based on established criteria, and interact with the global investor community.

Your Skills:
• BS/BA or similar degree with relevant concentration in finance or economics
• 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred
• Quantitative degree or coursework preferred, including financial forecasting and statistics/econometrics
• Strong ability to work with financial models and data, including cash flow and credit models
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well both independently and as part a team
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact confidently with clients
• Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to use MS Access a plus
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
• Ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented and to multitask
• Ability to use, Visual Basic, C++ or other programming languages a plus
• Pursuit of CFA, or master's degree in finance/economics a plus

Compensation/Benefits Information :
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $46,200, to $129,200. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
