Job Description
We are looking for a thought leader to work closely with Socium's Portfolio Management team, Wealth Management Advisors and our Client Service Teams. As a rapidly growing firm, this role is newly created to oversee and manage research and investment policy. The opportunity to shape the role is available for the right candidate with the experience to further strengthen our Portfolio Management team.
Investment Research
- Keep apprised of relevant investment offerings within and outside the firm
- Maintain relationships with outside investment firm representatives
- Prepare detailed research and due diligence on mutual fund, bond and equity investments
- Provide analysis on current and potential investments
- Prepare insight on current client portfolios and analysis on prospective client holdings
- Oversee diagnostics on U.S. Large cap stock portfolio
- Curate investment philosophy for the firm
- Contribute to weekly internal market updates
- Deliver client-facing market updates when appropriate
- Provide synopsis of Investment Committee meetings and maintain ongoing agenda
- Articulate investment strategy to team, partner advisors and clients when necessary
- Ensure all recommendations and portfolios are within compliance standard
- Support trading activities within client accounts
- Provide training and oversight to other portfolio team members
Desired Skills and Experience
BA or BS degree from a four-year institution
Securities licensing: Series 7 (obtain within 60 days of start date) and Series 6 or 63 (obtain within 90 days of start date)
Obtained or on track towards the CFP, CFA, CPA, CPWA or equivalent financial services designation
Insurance licensing: Missouri Life & Health licensed (obtain within 60 day of start date)
Ability to work with limited guidance and demonstrate problem solving capabilities
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent analytical skills with ability to articulate the story within the numbers
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and professional business setting
Excellent interpersonal skills in a team-oriented environment
Intermediate experience with handling and archiving of sensitive electronic documents, experience with Microsoft Office, preferred emphasis in Excel and ability to learn new applications and software
