About the job

InterOcean Capital is a growing Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm with approximately $2.9B in assets under management. We are seeking an Analyst to join the team at our new office location in Nashville, Tennessee. The Analyst will work directly with our Portfolio Management and Business Development team in a supporting role. In addition to a new office setting, the position offers a competitive salary with annual bonus opportunities based on individual performance and company success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our firm’s investment strategy and philosophy and incorporate that information effectively in the construction of client portfolio analysis, asset allocation, and financial planning process
  • Produce client performance reports and ad-hoc reports at client’s request
  • Support investment committee with fundamental research and technical analysis on individual equities, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, and other investment vehicles
  • Assist investment team in providing supporting analysis for periodic strategy commentaries and market forecasts
  • Assist Portfolio Managers in portfolio decision-making, trade preparation, and ongoing monitoring of portfolio performance and exposures
  • Collaborate with administrative team in handling client inquiries, preparing client materials, and assisting in the client onboarding process (including paperwork related tasks)
  • Support Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers on prospect/client calls and meetings, as necessary
  • Working with custodian client service and partner advisory (tax, legal, etc.) teams to complete client requests
  • Maintain CRM system to ensure all client and internal data is current and accurate

 

 

About you

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in which accuracy and attention to detail is crucial
  • Must be computer savvy and capable of learning new software applications with relative ease
  • Strong analytical, planning, and project management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Team-oriented, with a willingness to help other team members grow
  • Have a good understanding of global capital markets, security valuation, portfolio, and wealth management concepts
  • Demonstrate technical competence by keeping up to date with industry developments

 

 

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of professional experience. Experience at RIA or Broker/Dealer is a plus
  • Strong computer skills and MS Office Suite; Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required
  • Experience with Salesforce, Charles Schwab, Black Diamond Reporting, and MoneyGuidePro is a plus
  • Experience with databases such as Bloomberg is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Desire to work towards the CFA or CFP designation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
