Position Overview
We are currently seeking an intern to join the Index Client Service Team under our Client Coverage organization in Shanghai. The successful candidate will be with the team for 6 to 9 months.
Scope of Responsibility
The successful candidate will be part of the APAC Client Service team catering to the inquiries raised by MSCI global clients in the field of finance and investment raised during APAC hours. Said candidate will provide support to clients in their use of MSCI's Index products. His responsibilities include but not limited to:
(a) Learn and understand the different MSCI Index products and methodology
(b) Learn and understand the various market and financial concepts used in MSCI Index products
(c) Analyze, understand and competently address clients' queries, concerns and requests using combined knowledge of MSCI Index products and financial concepts
(d) Assist clients in navigating and researching index-related materials/resources stored in MSCI's Client Support Site
Specific Knowledge/Skills
• A self-starter and highly motivated, ability to work individually and within a team
• Basic understanding of international financial institutions and global financial markets
• Demonstrated basic understanding of financial topics, such as: financial ratios, market portfolio construction, and benchmark creations
• Strong analytic, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Adept in the use of Microsoft Office and tools
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight, short-term deadlines
• Ability to work efficiently with diverse cultures on a global team and knowing when to involve appropriate colleagues in projects regardless of functional, geographic, and business lines
Desired Experience
• 0-1 year' relevant working experience
• Past experience in client facing servicing capacity (via email and phone) is a plus
• Past experience in serving external financial institutional clients is a plus
Desired Qualifications
• Undergraduate Degree in finance, economics, or other quantitative fields is desired.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent is a plus.
• Either completed, studying or have interest in completing/studying a Finance related professional qualification e.g. CFA, FRM is a plus.
