Private Markets Investment Analyst
Job Profile Summary:
The Investment Analyst will join Memorial Hermann’s six-person investment team managing an endowment-style portfolio invested across public and private traditional and alternative investment strategies. The Investment Office deploys capital primarily through investment funds managed by external managers but pursue direct investment opportunities such as co-investments. This position will be primarily focused on private markets but will also support the overall team as needed. Day-to-day responsibilities for the Investment Analyst are focused on quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment managers and reporting on the portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree. MBA and/or CFA preferred
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- 3 years of experience in financial asset management (institutional preferred)
- Experience in the non-profit investment management space preferred (i.e., University Endowments, Foundations, Healthcare, etc.)
- Experience working with Burgiss, Caissa, and Preqin preferred
- Organized, strong attention to detail and ability to work with diverse teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Principle Accountabilities:
- Participate in all aspects of due diligence on prospective private market fund investment and co-investment opportunities, including meeting with fund managers, preparing analytical assessments, and writing investment memos
- Assist the team with maintaining portfolio management analytical tools, including commitment pacing model and portfolio performance/exposure platforms
- Prepare quarterly presentations for various stakeholders, including Investment Committee and Finance Committee
- Work with Investment Operations team to ensure reporting of private market investments is up-to-date and correct in various systems
