We are working with a leading private wealth manager that is looking to hire a Portfolio Analyst with excellent communication skills, a technical background and a passion for ESG/Sustainable Investing to join their Central Investment Solutions team, which manages the firms Managed Portfolio Service (MPS).

This role would ideally suit someone with a multi-asset background and the ability to communicate investment themes and performance to internal and external stakeholders.

On the more technical side, the focus would be on ensuring that models & portfolio implementation reflect the firm's investment strategy, while also working with the team to maintain the portfolio analysis framework for the models and reports on performance, attribution & risk for senior stakeholders.

Strong ESG experience (or a certificate in ESG) is strongly desired, as well as experience managing complicated processes with a focus on risk reduction, standardisation and automation. Derivatives experience is also a plus.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
  • 5-10+ years' experience
  • Multi-asset background or knowledge of multiple asset classes (e.g. equities, fixed income, currency, credit)
  • A strong grasp of various investment products and the overall asset management and private wealth industry
  • CFA certified (highly desirable)
  • ESG Certificate (not required, however a plus)
  • Derivatives knowledge and experience of derivatives strategies is an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel (required)
  • Experience with VBA and C# a strong advantage.
  • Understanding of risk and control within the asset management industry.
  • Experience managing multiple complicated processes with a focus on risk reduction, standardisation and automation.
  • Driven, a self-starter and very proactive personality type
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.


Role Overview:
  • Communicating the firm's investment strategy and outlook to internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding and communicating how investment strategy is implemented across products and explain how market dynamics affect fund and portfolio performance.
  • Communicate the firm's responsible and sustainable approaches and propositions.
  • Actively providing input and support for the implementation of centrally managed model portfolios.
  • Working as part of a team to liaise with analysts and senior managers to ensure that models and portfolio implementation reflects the firm's investment strategy.
  • Working with the team to refine and maintain the portfolio analysis framework for the models.
  • Ensure changes and decisions are documented and reviewed by the appropriate committees. Generate and interpret reports on performance, attribution & risk for senior stakeholders.
  • Assist the team in calculating and generating orders and ensuring they are compliant and executed correctly.
  • Work with the team to improve processes and provide portfolio monitoring and risk reporting.
