Equity Trader / Portfolio Analyst
Job Description:
Payden & Rygel, a Los Angeles-headquartered, multi-asset investment manager seeks to fill an equity trader / portfolio analyst position with the following responsibilities:
Trader responsibilities:
- Execute buys and sells of equity securities, including:
- US and non-US common stock
- Preferred stock
- Equity Derivatives
- Research/analyze market levels and provide market color/insights.
- Monitor PM’s and Strategist’s price targets.
- Monitor compliance limits for portfolios, resolve trade issues, and price securities.
Portfolio Analyst responsibilities:
- Formulate and construct trade programs that adhere to investment guidelines.
- Determine and analyze portfolio construction and risk exposures.
- Perform portfolio and index level performance analyses.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly reports.
- Perform portfolio, index, and security analyses.
- Maintain question/answer RFP database. Assist in responding to RFPs.
- Performing longer-term equity/bond research projects.
Ideal characteristics:
- Collaborative, bright, quick learner, good attitude, attention to detail, articulate. Two to five years of relevant experience required. Programming / database management skills desired. College degree required, as is a CFA or CFA candidacy.
