Position Overview and Responsibilities:
As a key member of the CAPTRUST Investment Group’s team, the Analyst will support the Chief Investment Officer in Macroeconomic Research and Asset Allocation. The successful candidate is expected to work on a variety of projects spanning multiple asset classes such as global equities, fixed income and alternative investments (real estate and commodities etc.)
The ideal candidate will combine a passion for capital markets, asset allocation and portfolio risk management, attention to detail, and a strong sense of professional curiosity and self-learning, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on the economy and capital markets, including asset classes, sectors, investment styles, geographies and macroeconomic policies, to support Investment Committee’s decision-marking on tactical asset allocation
- Research and generate views, and create contents on the economy and capital markets, as well as produce proof statements on discretionary portfolios
- Conduct portfolio and risk analytics using Bloomberg and Morningstar such as factor analysis, performance attribution, tracking error etc. and other risk metrics calculation
- Research on a variety of investment topics and be able to clearly present findings and ideas to the Investment Committee and other audience
- Monitor performance of current tactical allocation and holdings in the portfolios, monitor economic and financial indicators to identify investment opportunities
- Improve, streamline and automate existing processes and leverage technology to maximize operational efficiency

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (Economics, Finance, Applied statistics or other Quantitative Finance Disciplines)
- 5 to 7 years Investment Research related experience
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- CFA strongly preferred (or significant progress toward)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (VBA is preferred) and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with research systems such as Bloomberg Terminal including Excel integration (API, BQL etc.) and Morningstar Direct
- Programming skills and statistical package such as Python, R etc. preferred
- Very attentive to details, and strong ability to efficiently organize large amounts of data
- Demonstrate ownership of tasks; Strong drive, passion and curiosity to undertake investment research initiatives beyond assigned projects, contributing to the overall investment process also with own independent ideas
- Demonstrate the ability of working independently and self-learning
- Highly organized, with ability to manage and prioritize a number of time-sensitive projects
