The position will involve:
  • Reporting to the CEO the CRO will build and lead a highly collaborative and proactive risk function factoring in the complex technology environment
  • Develop/Manage the overall direction of risk management and risk activities within SME / Retail with a strong focus on analytics
  • Responsible in the setting of risk appetite, risk tolerance, and mitigation strategies
  • Keeping updated on latest technology changes such as data analytics and artificial intelligence that can be applied to risk management
  • Manage the development and implementation of risk management policies, including policies related to credit management, cyber security, customer due diligence, outsourcing / vendors, business continuity, fraud, contracts, operation and compliance
  • Provide Risk direction and expertise to CEO and Business management team through participation as a member or chair of risk and related committees
  • Establish & maintain strong, transparent relationships with auditors and regulators

We are looking for:
  • A strong preference will be for someone who has the expertise of setting up digital initiatives within banking from a risk perspective and experience in operational execution
  • At least 15 years of banking experience, within the Retail Banking and/or SME risk space
  • Experience in Retail and SME Credit and knowledge of its risks embedded and impact, experience in Decision making through data analytics
  • CFA, FRM and other professional qualifications preferred
  • Creativity and comfortable with 'blank sheet of paper' assignments
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively network within the industry and the overall business
  • Must have high ethical standards, credibility and a commitment to best practices
  • Strong leadership and management skills to successfully motivate, coach and develop team members
