We're looking for an Operational Excellence or Lean expert with experience of delivering tangible benefits. You will be a self-starter, able to manage your own work within a project, comfortable conducting analysis and designing solutions to complex problems. Ideally you will have experience within financial services.

The team
Group Change at Schroders follows a hub and spoke distributed model with the divisional change teams embedded within each business division. Each divisional change team is connected to and part of a central Group Change department consisting of a cross divisional enterprise change function, an internal management consultancy team, a business architecture team, an Agile practice and an operational excellence practice. Together these specialist change management resources collaborate to ensure the successful delivery of strategic outcomes prioritised in the best interest of the company.
The Operational Excellence practice owns the Operational Excellence programme to develop a sustainable Lean capability within the organisation, resulting in improvements in process efficiency, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction, as well as developing a culture of continuous improvement across the firm.

What you'll do
• Deliver successful OE projects, from pre-assessment through to sustainability
• Support best practice for OE at Schroders, including continuously improving the tools and templates to be most effective
• Training/coaching new practitioners and business leaders through the OE programme
• Owning business relationships and being able to influence business outcomes
• Project management responsibilities (e.g. governance reporting, escalation management, risks and issues etc)
• Proactively find and address opportunities to support teams to improve
• Independently structure, analyse and synthesise data and findings
• Identify opportunities and key levers for improving performance
• Build consensus and influence outcomes, including adapting communication style to suit audience
• Build trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Create and endorse an open culture and provide timely and constructive feedback
• Understand what motivates colleagues and provides support to enable their success
• Run workshops/sessions such as, Value stream mapping workshops, Leadership interviews/engagement sessions, Operational Maturity assessments, Boot Camps and Leadership training sessions
• Be proficient in all 13 tools/techniques in the Schroders OE structure
• Understand KPIs and analyse performance data, including what drives KPIs

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Working knowledge of Lean principles and Operational Excellence best practices, backed up with industry recognised qualification and/or certification such as Lean 6 Sigma or Lean Competency System.
• Educated to a minimum of first degree level
• Experience of stakeholder management in a consultancy context
• An understanding of change management disciplines, processes and tools, including:
- experience of each of the key stages of change delivery
- planning and progress tracking mechanisms
- effective means of monitoring and managing issues, risks and dependencies
- strong reporting skills
- managing stakeholders
• An advanced understanding and experience of iterative delivery methodologies, such as Agile and Scaled Agile
• An understanding of, and preferably experience in, business process management
• Experience in facilitating workshops and delivering training and coaching
• Strong analytical skills

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
• Lean Six Sigma Qualification
• LCS Qualification
• Investment Management Certificate (IMC)
• CFA, CIMA or other professional qualification
• Relevant Change or Project Management qualification
• Experience of working within a Financial Services environment
