The Role:
The Investment Manager will sit within a team of 3 Investment Managers, supporting Investment Directors and assisting in the construction and maintenance of suitable portfolios for the Wealth Management company investment clients.
The Investment Manager will take instructions to invest new client money and put forward suggestions for a suitable portfolio in accordance with private client instructions and execute required dealing activity under instruction to implement strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions in private client portfolios.
The Investment Manager will identify potential changes to the Wealth Management Private Client portfolios driven by stock/fund specific, market and general economic indicators and discuss suggestions for appropriate action within private client portfolios.
The Investment Manager will gather information from prospective and existing private clients sensitively and sufficiently to properly inform investment recommendations/decisions.
The Investment Manager will attend private client meetings and present pre-agreed propositions and house views ensuring that information given is up to date, clear and not misleading and meets the private client's needs.
Keep comprehensive private client records and ensure that these are accurate and up to date at all times liaising effectively with colleagues in other departments of the Wealth Management company, platforms & external custodians, as necessary.
The Investment Manager will produce & distribute all private client reporting ensuring that reports/packs are reviewed for accuracy and dispatched in a timely manner.
Work alongside Investment Directors to manage assets under instruction and provide advice in accordance with the Wealth Management company's investment process, adhering to approved investment lists and risk parameters
The Investment Manager will build and maintain model/reference portfolios ensuring that they are up to date at all times and reflect the Wealth Management firms investment views.
Write investment commentary, investment proposals etc. ensuring that it is factually accurate and representative of the Wealth Management companies view.
The Candidate:
5 years' experience within Investment Management / Portfolio Management, with exposure to all aspects of client management
LEVEL 6 RDR - ESSENTIAL - PCIAM, Masters in Wealth Management or CFA
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Keeps abreast of developments in the financial services industry and has an up-to-date understanding of global economic indicators and how these drive markets.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with different teams especially the Central Investment team.
Organised approach to work, with close attention to detail so that records (including client files) are maintained in line with the Firm's policies and procedures.
