We are looking for a highly skilled individual to join our Continental European Insurance Ratings team in Paris or Milan.

The Role:
  • Analytical excellence: As part of a highly skilled analytical team you support the credit analysis for a complex portfolio of mostly Western and Southern European insurance companies and their financial market instruments. You will be assigned first credits for which you are responsible as primary analyst.
You may also work in second industry (Sovereigns/Public Finance or Financial Institutions) depending on business needs.
  • Surveillance: Joining and preparing review meetings for all insurance companies assigned in line with our surveillance standards. You will contribute to portfolio reviews as part of your assignment.
  • Publications: Helping to publish high quality and forward-looking rating reports and thought leadership sector research. In addition, you will support keeping our sector benchmark Insurance Industry & Country Risk Assessment (IICRA) reports up to date.
  • Customer Service: You are committed to providing service excellence to different external and internal stakeholders, including adding value to management meetings with rated insurance companies, as well as preparing investor and other key stakeholder meetings.
  • Organisational Efficiency: You allow the team to conduct time-efficient surveillance of credits and sectors. On-the job training is part of your work ethic's DNA.
  • Innovation: You are expected to absorb the dynamically changing parameters of insurance analysis (ESG, digital transformation, cyber, investments, underwriting, capital, regulation, accounting). You identify internal innovation needs and process improvements.

You will interact with senior insurance analysts across EMEA and support the team analytically on a broad and complex portfolio of credits, ensuring a consistently high level of analytic quality. You will allow the team handling the day-to-day analytical relationship timely and in high quality. You will support in producing and disseminating thought leadership research and rating reports via appropriate channels (e.g., publications, speeches, conference presentations, media interviews, social media etc).You are a team player promoting a positive team atmosphere as well as analytical and client service excellence.

The Team / The Business:
You will join a highly experienced, skilled, diverse, efficient, innovative, and international credit research team based in Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, Madrid, London and Stockholm.

The team is part of the EMEA Sovereign and Financial Services Group, which performs surveillance on all EMEA based Sovereign, International Public Finance, Insurance, and Financial Institutions ratings.

Requirements:
  • Degree level in a relevant business field. Actuarial or accounting background, or CFA qualification would be a plus
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in an analytical position or experience in the insurance industry and good understanding of capital markets.
  • Numerate and accurate with figures and detail-orientated, with ability to maintain accuracy whilst complying with potentially tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with fluent or highly business proficient language skills in English, French and Italian.
  • A highly motivated team player who can work autonomously in a global, multi-cultural and fast pace environment with strong organizational skills and execution mind-set
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to use database or programming languages a plus.
