Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a VP, Senior Business Analyst for its Newport Beach, CA location. Job ID 30077

Duties: Participate in all phases of SDLC, including requirements gathering, specification definition, oversight of code development, creating test and rollout plans, and oversight of software rollouts. Use SMARTS and manual trade generator to test compliance rules and templates against company guidelines. Build rules structure using complex Timesten and Oracle SQL for legacy FLO system. Code complex structures based in XML, Python, Bourne Shell Scripts for Modified Lambda, Custom leverage and other Modern Rules. Engage in data reconciliation and analysis. Work with business users as well as Compliance, Rule, and Trade Compliance Teams to gather requirements, conduct user acceptance testing ("UAT"), and provide support as needed. Develop SQL template to ensure software rules are applied in accordance with compliance and company guidelines. Utilize Autosys to create and maintain SSRS Reports, and to schedule and maintain jobs. Conduct process and gap analysis to develop software solutions that reduce inefficiencies and optimize performance. Provide critical support for daily trading activities, ensuring compliance with over 25,000 rules including leverage, exclusion, and concentration rules. Engage in migration of traditional/Modified/Custom FLO rules to Rev-3 engines using the Rev-3 rule builder. Liaise with development teams to coordinate, build, and implement end product. Develop implementation approach, timelines, and go-live strategy. Provide post go-live support including identification, tracking, and resolution of issues. Automate existing Leveraging Rules for various Markets and rules' guidelines including Segregated Assets Rule under 1940 Act, Lambda Cash for Assets and Liabilities, AIFMD (Alternative Investment Fund Management Directives) for European Funds, Canadian Cash Coverage Rules for Canadian Funds, Custom Leverage for the Client Directed Lambda, Basic Maintenance Amount (BMA) for Muni Funds, Duration Netting for Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS).

Position Requirements:

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Engineering or related field and seven (7) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in position offered, or as Developer or related position. At least five (5) years of experience must include: participating in all phases of SDLC, including requirements gathering, specification definition, oversight of code development, creating test and rollout plans, and oversight of software rollouts; building rules structure using complex Timesten and Oracle SQL for legacy FLO system and coding complex structures based in XML, Python, Bourne Shell Scripts for Modified Lambda, Custom leverage and other Modern Rules; providing fixed income trading support to ensure compliance with Leverage, Exclusion and Concentration Rules; developing SQL templates to ensure software rules are applied in accordance with compliance and company guidelines; conducting process and gap analysis to develop software solutions that reduce inefficiencies and optimize performance; utilizing fixed income trade cycle and portfolio, risk and analytics management applications including Calyspo, Summit, Bondedge, Barracuda, Blackrock Aladdin, Bloomberg and Mergent Datafeeds, Lehman Live, ACE, FLO, CE, FIS2 and FIPA; utilizing C++, Oracle 12, TimesTen, Python, JAVA, Shell Scripts, SQL, VBA, Flask, NumPY, Pygal, PERL, XML, HTML5, and C; and automating Leveraging Rules for various Markets and rules' guidelines including Segregated Assets Rule under 1940 Act, Lambda Cash for Assets and Liabilities, AIFMD (Alternative Investment Fund Management Directives) for European Funds, Canadian Cash Coverage Rules for Canadian Funds, Custom Leverage for the Client Directed Lambda, Basic Maintenance Amount (BMA) for Muni Funds, Duration Netting for Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS).
