Job Details

A boutique firm that offers wholistic wealth management services including asset management, family office, and financial advisory services is seeking a professional with trust experience.

The role is responsible for trading, managing, evaluating, and monitoring several and/or large balanced portfolios. This role partners with the Chief Investment Officer, as well as traders and analysts, to define optimal portfolio strategy and must uphold the prescribed investment management process. The role includes conducting top-down fundamental research, contributing to strategy formulation and constructing portfolios with diversified risk within the relevant mandate to generate solid investment performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing, recommending, editing, and executing trades on a daily basis
  • Responsible for managing portfolio risk; evaluates and monitors investment performance
  • Constructs and maintains portfolio within client investment guidelines, consistent with the client mandate
  • Contributes to market analysis, thought leadership, and white papers
  • Contributes to establishment and periodic review of investment strategies
  • Monitors domestic & international economic and political trends for potential impact on the fundamentals and performance of the portfolios
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge of the equity and fixed income market, including municipal bonds and issuers within that universe
  • Assists Client Advisors with client and prospective client relationships
  • Provides reports to clients on performance of account, the market, and performance of individual securities as required
  • Supports new product and business development as needed

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience and demonstrated success in investment management
  • Strong working knowledge of trusts, financial markets, investment management, products and marketing
  • Established track record of providing strong investment performance and effective risk management
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, and/or economics with a post graduate degree preferred;
  • CFA charter holder preferred
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented
  • Strong initiative and accountability; able to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within portfolio management team and across investment functions
  • Excellent analytical and interpretive skills; strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and risk
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including written and oral presentation skills
  • Able to maintain effectiveness, accuracy and performance in a fast-paced and demanding environment with multiple concurrent priorities
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
  • Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required .
