Objectives/Purpose
Job Purpose:
  • Provide advisory and execution on Equities and Equity Structured Products (OTC and Listed) to Relationship Managers (RMs), Investment Consultants (ICs) and Direct-Access-Clients (DACs)
  • Present high conviction ideas at Weekly Investment Meetings (WIM) to a group of 100 RM and independently cover various markets for Transactional Investment Meetings (TIM) within South-Asia markets.
  • Analyze and conduct macro, fundamental and technical analysis to generate Equity investment ideas
  • Directly drive DAC revenue through close engagement with DAC-tagged clients, via providing tailor-made investment ideas, conducting portfolio reviews and preparing investment proposals
  • Provide market intelligence, market updates and facilitate generation of Equity ideas during team meetings
  • Generate timely tactical equity ideas and supervise closely to ensure accountability
  • Streamline processes to increase efficiency, minimize risks and ensure compliance through sales platform initiatives and risk projects
  • Collaborate closely with PB and Global Markets Research to arrange analyst conference and build thematic trade ideas and content.
  • Promote EQ offerings and DAC service to facilitate sales efforts, via conducting on-boarding training and the creation of pitch books.

Duties/Roles/Responsibilities/Accountabilities (in order of significance/impact, if available)
Business Focus
  • Provide outstanding service for equity advisory and execution on Equities and Equity Structured Products (OTC and Listed)
  • Offer market knowledge, product depth and equity solutions to key partners in PB APAC
  • Ability to drive sales and increase DAC share-of-wallet revenue for Equity and equity related products
  • Point of contact for DAC clients on equity solutions and continuous committed effort to ensure we are provide outstanding equity solutions and services through tailor-made investment ideas, conducting portfolio reviews and preparing investment proposals
  • Leverage on our close collaboration with PB and Global Markets Research to provide research views and offer innovative equity solutions.
Sales and Marketing
  • Build trust and excellent rapport with clients and internal partners (RMs and ICs) to
  • Showcase our platform capabilities through market intelligence, market updates and facilitate generation of Equity ideas during team/client meetings
  • Work closely with multiple key partners internally and externally, i.e. with research on investment ideas, with COO to ensure marketing materials are compliant, and with counterparties to ensure content and best execution.


You Offer

  • Relevant University or Graduate Degree with a sharp analytical mind
  • 10yrs of proven working experience in equities, derivatives and/or have equity and/or research knowledge across HK/China and US sectors
  • Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills. Business Mandarin (both oral and written) is advantageous as you will liaise with Chinese speaking clients.
  • CFA, FRM, CAIA holders preferred
  • Very positive relationship building skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg skills. Ideally combined with knowledge on VBA and SQL too.

Execution and Reporting
  • For Equity and Equity Structured Products trade reporting to clients and internal partners
Market Intelligence and Knowledge Building
  • Keeping self-abreast with the latest developments in the financial markets at all times;
  • Capturing and sharing intelligence on markets, products, clients, competitors, etc., to improve the competitive advantage of the bank
Compliance
  • Adhering to relevant internal policies & regulatory requirements where applicable;
  • Keeping the concerned authorities (internal & external) informed of potential violation of legal and compliance regulations, Credit Risk Management issues, etc., to ensure smooth functioning of various processes
Business Partnership
  • Participating in User Acceptance Testing of new/modified systems being introduced by the IT team and providing them feedback on the efficiency;
  • Participating in Disaster Recovery Planning exercise;
Communications & working relationships
  • Both structured and informal reviews with Head TS Equity Sales team head and TS Head Equity APAC;
  • Continuous collaborating closely with RM teams, IC-Sales, Operations, other desks in TS, external counterparts, for functional efficiency
  • Open communication through team meetings;
