We are looking for a highly analytical and dynamic individual to lead the US Branded Cards Executive Decision Support (EDS) function as part of the Branded Cards FP&A team. The well matched candidate will provide insightful financial and strategic support focused on guiding senior management within the business towards making key decisions on how to generate and drive revenue growth and expense opportunities over the short and long term. The role is a critical senior role on the team driving all forecasting processes, managing financial reviews and partnering with NACB FP&A to support Outlooks, Flash, and Earnings activities.

Responsibilities
  • Critical responsibilities include managing all forward looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans, monthly outlooks, quarterly earnings presentation, external narratives preparation and other senior management presentation to ad hoc portfolio analytics.
  • Lead the US Branded Cards EDS team in preparing necessary supporting materials for these critical presentations, including analytics on portfolio trends, balance performance, expense, productivity, etc.
  • Partner closely with Product management finance team and business product managers to understand key product performance and associated risks and opportunities.
  • Work with others across the organization to help influence senior management decisions.
  • Partners with other various support organizations including Decision Management, Risk, Treasury, Controllers, CCAR, Acquisitions and Marketing.
  • Represent the business at Finance and/or senior manager meetings.
  • As Executive Decision Support (EDS) Lead, coordinate forecasting, presentations, reporting, and analytics, both within directly-managed EDS team as well as across other FP&A teams.
  • Manage Cards primary financial data system, which is utilized across multiple finance and business teams; partner closely with Technology support on system updates, troubleshooting, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee Cards governance and control processes, including MCA, ARA, EUCs and COB.


Requirements and Qualifications:
  • BS (MBA, CPA, CFA, etc... a plus) in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in finance roles, including significant experience in the consumer banking space.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact at all levels of an organization and influence stakeholders on path forward; Support internal clients through an effective challenger model.
  • Excellent team leadership and partnership skills: ability to work with and influence senior management across both multiple levels of the organization and geographies.
  • Experience managing a team across different locations.
  • Proven operational and financial leadership with ability to drive results.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking; Critical thinker/problem solver that can drive qualitative & quantitative analysis, embracing ambiguity in available data & input.
  • Excellent people leader: a track record of building, developing and maintaining a high performing team of motivated Finance professionals.
  • Bias for action: Track record of driving parts of large scale transformations and/or implementation of high-impact initiatives; Demonstrated success in driving change across organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation. The ability to understand and articulate complex financial concepts in layman's terms to all levels of senior management is critical.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable in additional systems such as SmartView/Hyperion/Essbase/etc.
  • A pro-active self-starter who can continue to push concepts forward with minimal guidance.
  • Extensive background in financial planning, business analytics and related finance disciplines.
