Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced risk analyst with a background in foreign exchange and capital markets who can support the front office management function for all Global Markets products, primarily in the APAC region. Demonstrated experience in the credit and market risk analysis of a wide variety of counterparties and financial instruments is of central importance. The Front Office Risk Analyst will be part of a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. A significant degree of autonomy, including making careful decisions that implement State Street's risk appetite under pressure, is a requirement. The analyst will be located in Hong Kong and will be responsible for follow the sun coverage.

What you will be responsible for
As Front Office Risk Analyst you will
  • Ensure proper credit due diligence has been completed for all counterparties within each SSGM business line
  • Review client and prospect portfolios for collateral eligibility, risk characteristics, and resulting margin requirements across Global Markets programs
  • Implement "follow the sun" coverage model for the Front Office Risk Team, particularly for FX ECN limit maintenance
  • Perform detailed analysis including VaR, PFE, RWA, CVA exposures, collateral delivered under CSAs, stress scenario results, and exposure changes over time.
  • Become the subject matter expert in APAC around scarce resources & limits including RWA, SCCL, Balance Sheet, RoC, CCAR, Asset/Liability Management, LCR, NSFR + Treasury Funding
  • Help design, implement, and maintain metrics and analyses to track the consumption of regulatory capital, balance sheet leverage, and market risk to aid optimal decision making in sales and trading teams
  • Manage the relationship between Front Office Risk and ERM; inform ERM of relevant business developments in the APAC region
  • Prepare and present in-person and teleconference service updates to clients from a Front Office Risk perspective

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in capital markets risk management.
  • Formal credit training strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of VaR, scenario stress testing, and ISDA/CSA documentation used in FX trading.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory environment applicable to FX and other global markets businesses.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with large sets of trading and market data.
  • Professional designations (CFA, FRM) preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Wall Street Systems, Credit Risk Management platforms, and SQL is beneficial.
