Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are....

You will be responsible for supporting the execution and management of investments for the ESIF Fund Strategy.

Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time....
  • Involvement in both origination and execution while also working closely with the portfolio businesses and management teams.
  • Monitor and develop an in-depth understanding of our target infrastructure sectors (energy, transport, telecoms etc.) and the broader European infrastructure marketplace for developments and new opportunities
  • Compiling and presenting financial and qualitative analysis of companies and sectors
  • Developing and reviewing detailed financial models for investment opportunities or portfolio companies, that are fully dynamic and capable of running extensive scenario analysis
  • Leading selected due diligence streams and coordinating external advisors in investment appraisals
  • Supporting the on-going asset management of portfolio companies; monitor and prepare reporting material on asset performance


Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have....
  • Demonstrable experience working on transactions; including conducting research and reviewing due diligence materials
  • Strong commercial acumen, an attention to detail, analytically rigorous and understanding of the fundamentals of the different infrastructure sectors
  • Experience in financial analysis and valuations - ability to construct complex, fully flexible, excel-based financial models
  • Strong communicator with experience of presentations and report writing


Preferred Qualifications

If you also had this, it would be great....
  • Previous European infrastructure investing/M&A experience at a leading infrastructure fund, investment bank, accountancy firm or private equity firm
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • Languages: English and minimum of one other European language
  • Additional financial qualifications (or working towards) including ACA, CAIA or CFA are advantageous
  • Proven ability to successfully multi-task and manage priorities under tight timeframes
  • Self-motivated, proactive and self-directed, with a high degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to analyse problems/risks and to recommend and implement prudent solutions
  • A strong and flexible work ethic, plus the ability to be effective in working both independently and in teams with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
