Position Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking individual to join the Bank Oversight team within our Funds and Operations Group. The individual will be responsible for oversight of fund accounting, custody, and NAV policy for all PIMCO sponsored public mutual funds. This role will coordinate extensively with product business owners globally and at all levels. The incumbent will exhibit their project management skills through a proven record of meeting deadlines and coordinating across functional areas.

This role is based in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify, communicate, and monitor all NAV and accounting policies
  • Ensure accurate and timely daily NAV, ledger, and sub-ledger accounting data from third-party custodians
  • Review daily ABOR to IBOR reconciliations and ensure all third-party custodian data is within expectations
  • Balance third-party custodian relationships through on-site due diligence, strategic relationship meetings, and structured scorecard ratings
  • Lead non-conformance efforts to remediate errors and drive improvements
  • Support all change management and fund event activities, including fund launches, liquidations, and restructures
  • Coordinate various projects related to technology, process improvement, and new business integration
  • Build and review board materials related to third-party custodian performance


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 3-7 years of fund accounting experience with a strong understanding of NAV creation, security valuation, P&L review, cash reconciliation, and transaction processing
  • Experience analyzing and providing commentary around fund performance, distribution yield, and SEC yield
  • Understanding of accounting of fixed income securities, bond amortization methodologies, and derivatives, including: TRS, IRS, CDS, Options and Futures
  • Exposure to a broad range of fund products, including: 40 Act, ETF, Closed End, UCITS, Master/Feeder structures, and currency hedged share classes
  • Prior experience working in an outsourced model with oversight of vendor relationships
  • Risk and controls minded with a regard for process and documentation
  • Detailed with strong analytical and data management skills (Excel usage, Macro writing, Database queries, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
