Job Details
Blue Whale Capital was launched in 2016 by Peter Hargreaves and Stephen Yiu. The firm currently manages more than £700m in global equities, with the flagship LF Blue Whale Growth Fund delivering top tier performance since inception.
Due to rapid growth in AUM Blue Whale is now looking to hire a generalist Junior Equity Analyst to work closely with the portfolio managers and senior analysts in researching investment ideas across the global equity universe.
Main duties of the role
- Supporting lead analysts in all aspects of researching selected equities (reviewing annual reports, constructing financial models, interviewing management etc.).
- Creating and defending investment ideas.
- Monitoring existing portfolio investments.
- Contributing to the investment debate amongst the team.
Candidate Profile
- 1-3 years of relevant experience (e.g. sell-side, buy-side, private equity, venture capital or M&A).
- Passion for investment.
- Strong commitment to learn and develop as an equity analyst.
- CFA or ACA preferred, programming skills a plus.

Our investment team comprises five highly experienced professionals who company-wide focus solely on a universe of less than 100 high-quality companies. This enables each member of the team to spend significant time analysing each potential investment.
It is for this reason we believe our understanding of our investee companies is second to none. What is more, all our research is our own. This means we generate our own understanding of each company based on proprietary research, raising conviction in our conclusions and allowing us to make better informed investment decisions.
