Position Description:

We are seeking a CLO Compliance Specialist/Manager to join our global team of professionals located in Newport Beach, CA, London, Austin, TX, and New York, NY. This team supports PIMCO's Alternatives business, which includes complex hedge funds and private equity vehicles.

The role may be based in New York, NY or Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist business during warehouse ramp up phase to CLO securitization phase
  • Act as liaison between PM's, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and Tax on CLO-related inquiries
  • Daily interactions and oversight of outsourced settlement providers/shadow compliance agent/trustees
  • Review models created by shadow compliance agent / trustee per indenture
  • Assist PMs in running hypothetical trading analysis to determine which assets can fit into CLO depending on size, concentration limits, etc., and work with PMs to adjust allocations accordingly
  • Track subjective portfolio / asset attributes specific to PM view or indentures
  • Coordinate and oversee warehouse facilities and CLO deal closings, including working closely with PM's, underwriters, placement agents, etc., leading up to closing date
  • Provide oversight of daily asset, position, cash reconciliations, ongoing attribute recs with middle office, shadow compliance agent and trustee
  • Ensure proper settlement of trades to respective cash buckets (i.e. ramp up vs. principal account)
  • Review monthly/quarterly reporting of trustees
  • Attend due diligence meetings for marketing CLO's


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5-8 years of managing CLO compliance directly on behalf of collateral warehouse manager or managing outsource provider running CLO compliance, including hands-on experience with:
    • Managing hypothetical trading process
    • Building or reviewing outsourced providers models for eligibility criteria and concentration limit tests
    • Selecting or reviewing Cov-Lite, Industry Classifications, Ratings Agency determination
    • Managing CLO warehouse portfolio ramp up
  • CLO securitization-from warehouse to pricing to closing to effective date
  • Demonstrated knowledge of syndicated bank loans market, risk retention compliance, CLO indentures and credit agreement experience
  • Prior use of CLO Compliance systems: WSO Compliance, Sentry, Solvas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for client meetings
  • Consistent track record managing CLO compliance and managing outsourced providers
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, and Bloomberg essential
  • Understanding of SQL and database query tools desirable
