The firm is seeking an Associate Analyst who will work directly with the firm’s Research Analyst in the Pipelines, Utilities & Energy Infrastructure sector in our Calgary office.  This position requires an ambitious and self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and who is comfortable in an unstructured, demanding and occasionally stressful environment.

Duties Include:

  • Analysis of financial statements and the valuation of domestic and foreign companies
  • Development and maintenance of financial models
  • Industry & market research and collection and maintenance of industry and company data
  • Evaluation of additional information from the financial press, corporate, industry and alternative sources
  • Assist in writing and editing research notes, reports and Analyst presentations
  • Communication with institutional clients and retail advisors, management and investor relations team of companies under coverage, and internal equity and fixed income sales staff

Qualifications:

  • Strong educational background combined with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • CA, CPA, CFA designation is desirable
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous analytical experience in capital markets research.
  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends in an unpredictable setting
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • English spoken, French is asset
