J ob Description:
The Portfolio Analytics and Cross-Asset Strategy (PACS) team within Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management Investment Resources (WMIR) division develops and applies disciplined, systematic approaches to construct portfolios. Using evidence-driven frameworks and other quantitative methods to analyze opportunities and recommend tactical exposures, the team supports the Global Investment Committee (GIC) and advisors across the investment process: strategic, tactical and dynamic asset allocation; active-passive decisions; manager selection and portfolio construction. As a cross-asset market strategist, responsibilities require the ability to analyze and simplify investment ideas and market movements in order to provide tactical advice for Morgan Stanley financial advisors to follow and share with clients.

The team seeks an analytical and solutions-oriented individual with multi-asset knowledge, including equities, fixed income, derivatives and FX to be a key contributor on the team. The role requires understanding of financial markets and their key drivers and a high degree of technical competence, fundamental market knowledge and writing ability. The candidate will work side-by-side with key members of the Global Investment Committee and senior management throughout WMIR, and will get exposure to a wide assortment of investment product areas (individual equities, ETFs, Managed Products, Fixed Income, Alternative Investments, etc.).

This multi-faceted role will include ownership of several key team initiatives. First, the candidate will oversee the research support and contributions to the "Global Investment Committee (GIC) Weekly" publication and the accompanying slide deck, the "GIC Weekly Digest," in coordination with Wealth Management's Chief Investment Officer. Furthermore, the candidate will take ownership for several ETF portfolios, which implement the GIC's investment views or those from the team's portfolio construction frameworks. The ETF portfolio effort includes preparing update notes and monthly reviews and representing the portfolios in monthly conference calls and ad-hoc interactions with Advisors.
