Job Summary

Barings Global Client Operations Department is seeking a Director of Analytic Operations to lead and provide ongoing support for the production of the firms Investment Analytic platform. As part of Barings broader Global Client Operations Department, the Analytic Operations team function is responsible for developing and implementing a standardized framework to produce, measure, and monitor investment level analytics on a firm-wide basis. The Director will lead and work with associates across the firm to produce and monitor the quality of analytics for assets and portfolios while provide ongoing support to critical stakeholders. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively build relationships with the key stakeholders in business and support areas, ensure high quality results are delivered on time and be comfortable in rapidly changing environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist key stakeholders with on-going support and enhancement of Analytic Delivery Platform. This would include platform enhancements consistent with the overall vision of the firm.
  • Oversee daily analytic calculation process; research and resolve issues with analytics and/or other data issues through modeling of bonds within the analytic tool set
  • Develop and execute a quality assurance program designed to ensure that data is accurately being presented internally and to clients.
  • Collaborate with our Technology and Operations teams on broader firm initiatives such as those related to our risk and data infrastructure.
  • Developing, executing and continuously improving the process and control environment.
  • Modeling and loading position data to using proprietary tools & performing quality control of upstream and downstream data and loading processes
  • Work with vendors & internal associates to fix modeling issues
  • Communicate analysis to the product management and portfolio management teams when necessary
  • Where required, work with stakeholders within Investment, Product or Distribution to explain attribution results / methodology or agree value added enhancements to output
  • Assist with responses to the RFPs from sales or marketing
  • Execute ad-hoc report requests for either internal or external consumption

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree (preferably math, science, or engineering) with background and understanding of asset modeling (such as corporates, leveraged loans, structured credit).
  • CFA preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a performance, analytics, attribution setting
  • MS SQL Server querying experience (mandatory)
  • Ability to rapidly learn our infrastructure and proprietary tools and handle detailed reporting and presentation requirements a must.
  • Knowledge of buy side platforms, such as Factset, Bloomberg, Riskspan, RiskMetrics and Barra
  • Some experience with Intex
  • Some knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services and/or BI tools desired
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to gather, analyze, organize and report information, results and recommendations
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to manage several projects in different stages of completion concurrently
