Position Overview

The position is primarily focused on acquiring new clients and retaining existing revenue-generating client relationships.

The position requires an individual who is committed to being part of a team that delivers a comprehensive client solution. This individual must have strong interpersonal and analytical skills and be reliable and organized. He or she must be diligent, goal-oriented, and able to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

The right candidate will be a motivated and talented individual who seeks an opportunity to develop professionally in an environment unencumbered by many of the politically and personally stressful demands and conflicts of interest present in a bank-affiliated or insurance-company-affiliated wealth manager.

 

Functional Responsibilities

Client Communication:  Participate in meetings with clients. Document all substantive communication with clients, and gather information about clients in order to help formulate and achieve their investment and other financial goals/objectives.

Marketing and Sales:  Solicit new client referrals from existing clients. Solicit new clients from other sources.

Financial Planning:  Assess clients’ long-term financial security. Formulate financial strategies to meet the client’s non-investment financial objectives. Review and revise such strategies, as required, and help the client execute them. Create and deliver personal financial projections and solutions.

Investment:  Invest and rebalance assets to meet the client’s goals/objectives. Formulate and revise client investment goals/objectives. Set up accounts and arrange transfers of assets into such accounts for the purpose of meeting investment goals/objectives. Attend and participate in WESCAP Investment Committee Meetings. Research funds and securities and discuss pros, cons, and recommendations with Investment Committee.

Ethics and Compliance:  Comply with the CFA Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct and WESCAP policies and procedures.


Candidate Requirements and Helpful Characteristics

Excellence in professional achievement, including development of client book.
Significant existing client book that can be brought to WESCAP.
Knowledge and experience of investment and risk management; estate planning; income tax; retirement planning; general personal financial advice.
Useful credentials: CFP, CFA, MBA
