Your Team responsibilities -
  • Managing and enhancing the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes ("GIMI") for the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, incl.:
  • Monitoring relevant country developments globally (e.g., equity market accessibility, regulations, political and economic developments) and managing necessary index methodology changes in close coordination with other teams
  • Researching and recommending methodology enhancements for GIMI in close consultation with leading investment management firms
  • Maintaining and rebalancing the indexes in accordance with the GIMI methodology
  • Managing and enhancing other MSCI Equity Indexes, such as the MSCI Factor Indexes, the MSCI Thematic Indexes and MSCI ESG Indexes
  • Managing and enhancing the MSCI Fixed Income Indexes as well as the MSCI Real Estate Indexes
  • Collaborating in the research and development of new index products with the New Product Development team

Your key responsibilities -
  • Be a strong performer and be able to lead other members, if needed
  • Being a senior person, should be able to provide support and training to team members. Be able to oversee their work and perform QA where needed.
  • Member of decision-making Committee and responsible for solving and escalating issues or complex cases to Senior Management
  • Quality check of index rebalancing results and MSCI client queries related to Index Management Research and index methodologies
  • Interact closely with other regional Index Management Research teams. Interact closely with other teams concerning production, client queries or projects
  • Participate in and initiate projects related to Index Management Research. Propose enhancements to the methodology, processes and applications used by the Index Management Research team
  • Provide feedback/guidance and evaluating analyst on performance


Your skills and experience that will help you excel -
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience (e.g., equity research, investment management)
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, econometrics or science/engineering field
  • CFA, FRM, MBA or M Sc or equivalent (with a finance major)
  • Good Understanding of equity analysis and equity investment process, familiarity with Institutional Investment Practices and Buy Side Portfolio Management concepts
  • Fluency in English - read, write and interpret.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint knowledge. Good knowledge of VBA is a plus. Knowledge of Matlab/SQL/Python preferred.
  • Familiar with investment research and data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, Factset, risk and portfolio management systems)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
