The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) within BlackRock Solutions creates and delivers Aladdin's analytical capabilities to influence better portfolio decisions, differentiate products and solutions, and enable our clients to fulfill their financial goals. Role Description:

The team seeks a new security valuation & market analytics expert with demonstrated project management skills, who can advance the analytics capabilities of the firm's platform through improved models and expanded product coverage. Team members achieve a broad understanding of finance, clients, and technology; they learn to navigate all groups at BlackRock to solve business problems. Strong performers often grow into team leaders with management opportunities to coach and develop junior talent.

Overview of Responsibility:
  • In partnership with our Financial Modelling Group; design, test, and deploy financial models that produce security analytics with focus on term structure and derivatives models
  • Enhance BlackRock's Aladdin platform with new security analytics, models, and processes in response to industry events such as Libor transition, regulatory regime changes etc.
  • Define processes for quality control and maintenance of analytics models to ensure best in class robustness and reliability of Aladdin's analytics output
  • Utilize advanced analytics and project management skills to collaborate with BlackRock's clients, portfolio & risk managers and articulate clear financial modelling specifications
  • Understand rapidly evolve markets & stakeholder needs to influence analytics roadmap
  • Understands production processes and liaises with partner teams to ensure smooth model deployments and maintenance
  • Resolve complex analytical enquiries with a keen understanding of analytics and models
  • Create and improve documentation for analytical models and processes for internal and external consumption
  • Mentor and train junior analysts as they build expertise and gain exposure
  • Stay abreast on global finance, capital markets, geo-political scenarios, regulations and technology trends impacting BlackRock


Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

Candidates should have a demonstrated track record in tackling difficult real-world problems within investment & risk management businesses. The candidate will be expected to leverage extensive quantitative skills to lead complex security analytics projects in an endeavor to evolve the analytics platform within BlackRock Solutions. Furthermore, all positions require outstanding quantitative, communication, and presentation skills

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in a highly analytical role developing, deploying, or using financial models
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics, including options valuation, fixed income valuation techniques, interest rate modelling, or advanced credit analysis
  • Demonstrated success in project management with a diverse and demanding client base
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed while leading multiple projects
  • Project management expertise with demonstrated ability to lead ambiguous cross-functional initiatives.
  • Pro-activeness, ability to multi-task, prioritize, set and meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail


  • Qualifications
    • Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Business Management or some other quantitative field of study.
    • Acquired technical aptitude includes experience in Linux, SQL, and scripting platforms
    • Programming language skills are advantageous (e.g. Python, advanced excel etc.)
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation is a plus


  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical personnel
    • Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Management or some other quantitative field of study.
    • Relevant experience and knowledge in a specific area with financial technology, quantitative research, financial modeling, investment analysis, risk management on broad portfolio level such as equity, fixed income, securitized and alternatives.
    • Excellent understanding financial markets and ability to comprehend the impact of market events
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and an ability to identify problems, design and articulate solutions, and implement change
    • Superb Interpersonal Skills: You will be expected to explain complex concepts to non-technical people in simple, intuitive terms
