Position Description:

Experienced Compliance Expert located in London and part of the EMEA Regulatory Compliance team.
PIMCO is looking for an experienced and aspirational Compliance Expert who is familiar with all aspects of regulatory requirements applicable to PIMCO, i.e.to its branches, licenses and shareholdings. The candidate will be based in London and an integral part of the EMEA Regulatory Compliance team. He/she will focus on PIMCO's Compliance Program for PIMCO's Alternatives investments business with a particular focus on activities in Real Estate investments. The candidate should be familiar with EMEA's framework for AIFMs and preferentially have experience in real estate asset management business. Joining PIMCO's Regulatory Compliance Team will allow the candidate to work in an intercultural environment and to interact with other team members in EMEA and globally on an ongoing basis.
Assist the business in meeting regulatory standards
The role involves regular engagement with PIMCO's different business units and its branches and subsidiaries. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively in a busy and time sensitive environment in a proactive and pragmatic way.
The candidate shall assist to develop, promote and maintain a best in class Compliance Monitoring and Oversight program for PIMCO's branches and subsidiaries and PIMCO's Alternatives investments business. This includes in particular the implementation and maintenance of Compliance and AML / AFC / CTF risk assessment, oversight governance incl. board reports, Policies and Procedures and relevant monitoring procedures.
Conduct regular testing and assessment activities and maintain regulatory compliance files / licenses
Reporting to PEG's Head of Regulatory Compliance the Compliance Expert will have primary responsibility to conduct regular testing and assessment activities and maintain regulatory compliance files / licences to, in particular
Implementations and maintenance of a best in class branch and subsidiary oversight program, including Compliance and AML/AFC/CTF risk assessments;
Support execution of Compliance monitoring and oversight program for PIMCOs Alternatives investments business area
Advice of Supervisory Board Members and periodic Management Information;
Implementation and monitoring of regulatory requirements in PIMCO's branches and subsidiaries;
Maintenance and monitoring of information barriers;

Assisting in Implementation and maintenance of a t raining program for all staff in PIMCO's branches and subsidiaries to improve understanding of policies and regulatory environment, develop targeted training strategies for different business areas to make training relevant to business activities,
Conflict management such as Code of Ethics oversight including Personal Account Dealing monitoring and Gifts and Entertainment processes,
Responsibility for filing obligations, including maintenance of Compliance calendars and PIMCO EMEA's Branch/Subsidiary oversight program,
Coordination and support of internal and external audits.
Contribute to the success of a truly global team
The candidate will be expected to contribute to the wider regulatory compliance team as well as to get involved in local, regional and global project work and working groups.

Position Requirements:

Compliance experience is key success in this role
Compliance/legal/audit experience with a global financial services organization or Audit firm with focus on advice for financial services organizations. Previous experience as a Compliance Expert in a Financial Services firm or Asset Manager with a deep understanding of all aspects of real estate asset management would be ideal. Alternatively, experience from a Financial Service firms Audit or Risk Management background is essential. Expertise in financial products is a plus.
The candidate should have knowledge of and experience with German and EU regulation
Working knowledge of the regulatory environment in the UK, Germany and Luxembourg obtained either through academic education or professional experience in respective areas in a financial services company. Moreover PIMCO's EMEA business activities require knowledge and experience with EU regulation.
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong knowledge of regulatory environment and expectations under AIFMD, MIFID II, MIFIR and MAR, Money Laundering Directives, etc and respective local implementation in the UK, Germany and Luxembourg regulation.
A clear, detailed, logical approach with excellent record keeping and the ability to work with little supervision is essential.
Clear, concise communication skills and experience at presenting complex subject matter to business audiences is desirable.
Strong written and oral communication skills, fluent in English. Additional German language skills are a plus.
Highest professional standards and client service orientation essential for success in the role

Flexibility in approaching complex subject matter and understanding the business needs in the context of regulatory requirements is crucial.
