  • Working in conjunction with relationship managers, independently manage the origination and structuring effort for syndicated loans and alternative debt solutions
  • Must be able to lead market discussions and generate meaningful ideas during prospecting calling efforts
  • Lead deal teams due diligence efforts, including deep understanding of financial models and cash flow assumptions
  • Bring working knowledge of institutional debt solutions to discussions where bank capital may not be an appropriate fit
  • Must be well-versed in current market standards with respect to engagement papers, term sheets and loan documentation
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of key relationships with participating banks and understand their credit appetite and structuring requirements across multiple industries
  • Coordinate execution of the syndicated loan product, including: (1) managing deal execution activity of the junior team members; (2) drive completion of the Confidential Information Memorandum and Lender Presentations in conjunction with junior team members; and (3) leading negotiations of business terms and documentation
  • Oversee the compilation of marketing and research materials including: overview of current market conditions, comparable transaction analysis and syndication strategies
  • Oversee pitchbook template revisions
  • Track and follow trends in the syndicated and institutional loan markets
  • Develop deep working knowledge of external news and information resources
Qualifications
  • Minimum 12+ years of previous loan origination experience
  • Minimum Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, Economics or business degree
  • Completion of a formal training program
  • MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred
  • Experience in Investment Banking or Corporate Banking environment with a solid understanding of the broader debt capital markets
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Bloomberg a plus
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
