Job Description
The Columbia Threadneedle Investments Leadership Development Program is designed to provide first-hand experience within Asset Management.
The rotation program is a 24-month commitment which provides recent graduates with a broad investment background that will prepare them for a variety of future opportunities. Participants will be part of a cohort and this program will include three rotations in areas such as (1) Research, (2) Trading and (3) Portfolio Management.
Responsibilities
• Perform financial modeling of industry, company and security information and assumptions
• Provide market-related insight that helps Portfolio Managers identify relative value opportunities for the accounts
• Act as point of contact for Wall Street counter-parties - aggregating axes, collecting and disseminating market color and executing trades
• Develop and monitor a wide range of reports and analyses of the portfolios including investment performance trends and comparisons to client guidelines, indices, sector weightings and attribution analysis
• Re-balance portfolios in response to cash flows, market price movements and changes in client guidelines
Required Qualifications
• Graduating seniors pursuing a degree in business, economics, math, finance or science
• Excellent academic performance with a minimum GPA 3.0
• Commitment to complete the full 24-month leadership development program
• Previous Internship Experience
• Commitment to completion of the CFA Charter program
• Student Leadership Experience
• High level of intellectual curiosity and aptitude for solving complex problems
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Tools
• Programming skills in R, Python, SQL, VBA, MATLAB, or similar
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets
