The Role:

The ESG Fund Analyst will work within the Sustainable Portfolio Service area of this Investment Management business.

The Sustainable Investment proposition has seen significant growth in the business and as a result the investment research team require a dedicated and experienced ESG Fund Analyst to build upon the Investment firms expanding ESG/Sustainability offering.

The ESG Fund Analyst will provide Fund Research and analysis for the investment management firm and its clients with specific focus on strategies dedicated to ESG or Sustainable investments.

The role involves sourcing and analysing investment ideas within the collectives universe including open-end funds, unit trusts, investment trusts and ETFs that meet the ESG / Sustainable framework.

Responsible for conducting due diligence and research on investments dedicated to ESG investment. This will include face-to-face meetings with managers which is supported by quantitative analysis.

Contribute to the ongoing strategy and development of the ESG / Sustainability framework and initiate investment ideas and lead on fund research/proposals.

Provide appropriate ESG Fund research notes to support investment proposals to the relevant asset allocation committees and provide sufficient information for investment managers and their respective clients.

Sourcing of new fund managers including screening across the industry, meeting prospective managers, attending conferences or industry events and conducting on site due diligence.

The ESG Fund Analyst's core responsibility is to support the investment process and recommending improvements where applicable, and advising in-house investment managers on suitability of investments.

The Candidate:

5 years minimum experience as a Fund Analyst / Investment Fund Researcher with strong manager selection / fund selection skill set - within wealth management or asset management.

A knowledge of ESG / Sustainable Investments - a strong passion for this!

An ESG / Sustainable Investments specialist with buy side experience and a knowledge of investment funds will also be considered for this role.

Significant investment and sustainability experience, and proficient in different approaches to ESG / Sustainable investing

A strong understanding of investment risk Ability to both analyse, assess, understand and critique an investment process (active / passive)

A minimum of either IMC Qualification and/or CFA level 1

Comfortable handling and manipulating large datasets

Ability to liaise with Investment Managers on ad hoc requests regarding investment collectives.
