The Head of US Sales for the Cash Business will be responsible for the sales strategy for the Firm's cash clients and prospects across the Americas. This individual will be a critical member of the Cash Senior Leadership team and will be responsible for driving key distribution initiatives for our US cash clients and prospects.
The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of cash clients' investment objectives and needs against the backdrop of a low/zero rate environement and the current regulatory challenges facing the MMF industry. The successful individual will address these challenges by helping to define and lead innovative solutions and strategies for liquidity investors. The candidate should also have a very strong background in the US institutional cash market with existing client relationships and a proven track record of leadership, driving innovative business strategy and execution.

  • Lead a cross regional sales team to market and grow SSGA's global institutional cash management products and solutions to corporate treasury departments, financial intermediaries as well as other institutional cash investors and players
  • Drive an environment of teamwork and collaboration, not just in the domestic market but with the EMEA and APAC teams too
  • Develop relationships with the investment organization, internal and external business partners and the broader Global Institutional Group (GIG) business, as well as with key clients
  • Own, define and execute our distribution strategy for the US Cash Business (including proposing ideas for new products and amending existing product line and working with product management to drive these through)
  • Champion a consistent adoption of Salesforce as a key tool for measuring the success of our distribution effort
  • Work with Portfolio Strategists to drive thought leadership
  • Ensure that the US Sales team operates in compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Actively balance budget and sales targets to improve allocation of time and resources
  • Represent SSGA at industry and media events in the US market
  • Deliver sales presentations and seminars as well as conduct meetings with treasury, finance or investment staff alongside sales directors

  • Minimum of 10 years direct cash product sales and/or management experience with an asset manager, broker/dealer or bank. Significant experience selling money market funds, customised cash separate accounts and other short-term fixed income investments in the US market is strongly preferred.
  • Detailed understanding of cash management investing, industry dynamics, regulatory environment, as well as short-term fixed income and cash/money markets are prerequisites
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and motivating a team
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities

  • Outstanding sales presentation skills
  • Proven record of intellectual curiosity, i.e. a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt knowledge base

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Series 7, 63 and 24 Registration required within 90 days of employment
  • Completion or progress towards CFA and/or MBA is a plus
