Research Associate/Analyst Internship

The research associate will collaboratively support the investment team’s research efforts to evaluate investment opportunities in Japanese equities.  The position will be remote in either Japan or the U.S. and the candidate must speak Japanese and English.  This is an unpaid internship at a nascent investment firm.

• Translate meetings in Japanese/English with company management and the investment team
• Build, maintain and monitor spreadsheets from regulatory filings that track a wide range of companies’ financial characteristics
• Retrieve and maintain electronic documents related to company financial filings, corporate presentations, conference calls, etc.
• Produce presentations for investee company management and directors Assist investment team in sourcing and gathering data for ad hoc projects used for company and industry analysis
• Help with any administrative duties for the team as requested
• Development opportunities through experience, persistence and mentoring

Basic Qualifications:

• Passion for investing, continuous improvement, intellectual honesty and inquisitive thinking
• Current MBA or Undergraduate Business Student
• Working knowledge of accounting and finance Proficiency working with Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
