POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for driving the Financial Intermediaries' strategy with a focus on Hong Kong and Taiwan. This person will be a key member of the broader Asia Intermediaries team. In close cooperation with the portfolio specialists the associate will develop and deliver market environment and product presentations to new and existing clients. The associate helps position and improve brand awareness for TRP to be a trusted partner. Within the regulatory and licensing limitations for TRP in each of the respective markets, this role has responsibility to pursue and maintain relationships with the largest and most complex clients and prospects in region to grow the assets under management.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
  • Implement an Intermediaries distribution strategy
  • Pursues new prospects and leverages existing client relationships to meet growth targets
  • Identify sales opportunities and offer investment solutions to clients to establish close partnership
  • Conducts strategic analysis and plans for business development. Determines how to best pursue opportunities (i.e., which countries, types of clients / prospects, products) in ways that best fit goals for overall growth, diversification and quality / profitability of business.
  • Identifies and depicts product needs to relevant areas within T. Rowe Price

STRATEGIC BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
  • Develop a strategic sales and service plan and work closely with international sales team to manage global key client relationships

CORPORATE COMPETENCY
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of investment strategies covered
  • Develop a full understanding of T. Rowe Price's investment capabilities and philosophy

Ideal Experience
  • Proven record in intermediary business development across multiple asset classes within a respected multinational asset management firm.
  • Deep knowledge and experience of relevant markets in the region, in particular Hong Kong.
  • Understanding of strategy and business development processes, practices and applications, together with sound knowledge of the operational and regulatory frameworks for intermediary investment markets.
  • A sophisticated understanding of investing and ideally a proven ability to identify product trends and to advise the design of appropriate products to meet investor demands.
  • A portfolio of relevant, high-level relationships, in particular with all critical gate keepers.
  • University graduate with good academic qualifications. CFA strongly preferred.

  • Sales skills - should be very sales and results oriented with a proven entrepreneurial passion for developing businesses. There are multiple opportunities that this individual can seize on behalf of the firm to build a position as a relevant fund provider. As a result, the company is seeking an executive with 'front line' sales and distribution horsepower, with the ability to:
  • Understand the growth and directional nature of the key intermediary markets and able to leverage T Rowe's relevant products and solutions in these markets, whether these are globally or locally developed;
  • Deploy an intermediary strategy covering major clients;
  • Able to develop and articulate investment solutions, able to cover the entire intermediary value chain;
  • Balance tenacity and enthusiasm in what can often be lengthy sales cycles and attention to detail.
  • It is imperative for the executive to build on the Firm's global positioning to develop this segment, while addressing challenges and risks inherent in the complex and increasingly heavily regulated markets across Greater China.
  • Collegiate mentality -This executive must be a strong fit with T Rowe Price's unique culture and able to work successfully with the firm's investment professionals by establishing peer credibility. This individual will realize and act upon the importance of creating a solid internal network with our associates in London, Baltimore and Zurich, as well as elsewhere within Asia, especially Hong Kong. The successful candidate must build productive working relationships with senior colleagues who are geographically dispersed, and culturally diverse.
