The Sponsor Relationship Manager supports the Direct Private Investments ("DPI") program's efforts to originate, evaluate, approve, and distribute direct private equity and private credit co-investment opportunities from third party Financial Sponsors and Investment Managers (together, "Sponsors") for Family Offices and other sophisticated and suitable CPB clients around the globe. The role particularly focuses on the sourcing and review of Sponsors and co-investment opportunities as related to DPI. The role will work closely with key partners across the bank, including Citi Investment Management Alternatives ("CIM Alts"), Operational Due Diligence ("ODD"), Solutions Sales ("Solutions"), and Private Capital Group ("PCG").

Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Sponsor identification, origination and co-investment evaluation with Sponsors for consideration for the DPI platform
- Help develop a platform of 15-20 Sponsor relationships globally to provide co-investment opportunities to qualified CPB clients, including leading initial Sponsor due diligence and onboarding, internal approval processes, and supporting ODD review
- Prepare all documentation (i.e. diligence checklists, formal memorandums) for initial Sponsor onboarding and all subsequent co-investments
- Work closely with CIM Alts and ODD to determine and develop relationships with Sponsors on the CIM Alts platform
- Responsible for on-going Sponsor relationship management and reporting, including tracking of Sponsor introductions and co-investment pipeline
- Support sales and marketing efforts regarding co-investment opportunities
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Control partners approvals to ensure the opportunities meet all global regulatory, legal and compliance standards as well as ensure that the framework and operation of the DPI efforts are done in strict adherence to Citi's standards more broadly
- 5-7 years of experience in a private equity origination or similar roles that demonstrates the ability to source, diligence, structure, assess, negotiate, package, and market co-investment transactions from Sponsors
- Strong communication (written + verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Existing relationships with Financial Sponsors
- Excellent analytical, organizational, attention to detail, leadership, time management and teamwork skills
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in evaluating Financial Sponsors and co-investment opportunities/structure with a proven record of accomplishment of assessing quantitative and qualitative investment parameters to meet target client investor appetites
- Ability to influence decision making incorporating quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Judgment and discretion in working with highly confidential information
- Undergraduate Degree Required, MBA or CFA a plus
