INVESTMENT RESEARCH ANALYST

This position is responsible for supporting the research operations of the Firm.  The Research Analyst works directly with the Director of Research and in a collaborative environment, providing support to the Firm’s other Directors as needed.  The Research Analyst is responsible for initial manager screens, assisting with due diligence for recommended managers and maintaining the Firm’s research databases and analytics.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial screens for potential third-party managers, develop a base understanding of managers in each asset category
  • Complete due diligence on recommended managers, including daily performance tracking, portfolio and holdings analysis, manager calls, and attending manager meetings
  • Maintain, create and update research reports for distribution to clients on recommended managers
  • Manage research calendar, especially including knowing all reports under purview of responsibility and when they should all be completed
  • Assist in creating and maintaining trading models within the firm’s trading system
  • Assist others as needed in all job functions

Experience:

  • Proven leadership ability and an entrepreneurial disposition
  • Relevant research experience, including at least a base-level understanding of capital markets, asset classes and indexes
  • Demonstrated commitment to investment research, including progress towards the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
  • Detail-oriented
  • Team player that is results-oriented and sees tasks through to completion in a timely manner
  • High degree of initiative and intellectual curiosity; ability to think independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work efficiently with little supervision
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects and assignments
  • Proficient in Excel
  • High degree of professionalism and confidence; ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • High level of integrity
