The organization Strategic Programs and Group Operations Finance and Risk of the Department Group Operations regroups the transversal functions within Group Operations in the areas of Tax, Corporate Legal, Accounting, Finance Controlling & Performance, Compliance, Data Privacy & Internal Control. They are composed of 5 teams with respective accountabilities:

 

  • Strategic Plan & Efficiency
  • Manage and actively follow the objectives of the strategic plan of Group Operations, productivity as well as the reports on investment/profitability
  • Manage the improvement and simplification of the finance processes (example methods for calculating costs, invoicing, client management) and internal (BU responsibility)
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Produce the detailed financial information, up to date and targeted to allow analysis of changes and assist the decision-making process
  • Create regular dialogue and confidence with the entities through governance, invoicing and structured, transparent reports
  • IT & Non-IT Products
  • Centre of expertise for costing/pricing to support the transformation of AXA Services in order to evolve the model of « cost control » to a model of « product orientated », transparent and competitive
  • Ensure a financial support to operational teams in charge of « IT Products » and « Non-IT »
  • Accounting / Tax & Corporate Legal
  • Harmonise the accounting procedures (Technical / Application Products and countries)
  • Simplify the inter company contracts and align of the pricing policy
  • Produce reliable and accurate accounting data respecting the accounting principles recognised locally and by the Group
  •  Put in place the global Corporate governance which will ensure the conformity to the applicable legal obligations within each country
  • Compliance & Internal Control
  • Support to team to guarantee the respect of and adequate application of the relevant regulations (data protection, legal provisions, sanctions ….) in the different processes in the departments

 

 

The teams share a common objective to improve productivity through:

  • The simplification and the improvement of finance process and rules
  • The globalization of the governance, the alignment of procedures between countries and securing the adherence to applicable legal obligations within each country
  • The management of strategic objectives and the regular creation of reports on investment and profitability
  • The financial support for operational teams

 

 

POSITION MISSION & MAIN ACTIVITIES

 

As an Expert accountant is member of local accounting & tax team, She/He is accountable for overall accounting & tax for the Portuguese legal entity, including statutory accounts and annual tax returns. She/He is one of the points of contact for internal clients (global accounting team, local controlling team, operationals), external auditors (statutory auditors, tax auditors, etc).

 

 

Main activities include:

 

  1. Accounting:

. Analyze & review (in detail) complete accounting books regularly, ensure accuracy

. Provide complete statutory accounts (balance sheet + any other documents required in country) according to local requirements

. Make sure that all deadlines are met (legal & group) + coordination of timetable with controlling team for reporting purposes

. Monitor any changes in accounting local requirements

. Support for internal clients + statutory auditors + controlling team + global finance team

 

  • Tax:

. Fill in any tax return, including annual tax returns, according to local tax requirements

. Make sure that dead-lines are met for tax returns fill-in and tax payments

. Monitor any changes in local tax requirements

. Support for any internal or external auditor & for local head of group tax (if local tax consolidation with Opco) 

 

 

PROFILE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong accounting expertise
  • Strong tax expertise
  • Strong ERP expertise + Excel

Fixed assets management, inventory, AP & AR, provisions, banks, p&l and cut-off principles, all local accounting rules.

Can fill-in any tax return, aware of payment terms for all taxes, knowledge of Income tax and deferred tax calculation
