Job Description

The Columbia Threadneedle Investments (CTI) Graduate Rotational Program is a 24-month commitment designed to provide graduate students with experience within Asset Management that will prepare them for a variety of future opportunities. The program will include three rotations in areas such as (1) Research, (2) Trading and (3) Portfolio Management. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to post into a regular position where they can apply the knowledge they have gained and assume greater responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial modeling of industry, company and security information and assumptions
• Provide market-related insight that helps Portfolio Managers identify relative value opportunities for the accounts
• Act as point of contact for Wall Street counter-parties - aggregating axes, collecting and disseminating market color and executing trades
• Develop and monitor a wide range of reports and analyses of the portfolios including investment performance trends and comparisons to client guidelines, indices, sector weightings and attribution analysis
• Re-balance portfolios in response to cash flows, market price movements and changes in client guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Final year MA or MS candidate enrolled in an accounting, finance, engineering, economics or applied mathematics program (Graduating between December 2020 or May 2021)
• Excellent academic performance with a minimum GPA 3.0
• Commitment to complete the full 24-month leadership development program
• Previous Internship Experience
• Commitment to completion of the CFA Charter program
• Student Leadership Experience
• High level of intellectual curiosity and aptitude for solving complex problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Tools
• Programming skills in R, Python, SQL, VBA, MATLAB, or similar
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets
