Product Specialist, Multi-Asset Institutional Portfolios
Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group (”CC&LFG”), one of Canada’s top asset management firms, is adding a Product Specialist to focus on our growing Multi-Asset Institutional Portfolio offering. This offering provides institutional investors with a streamlined solution for executing customized multi-asset portfolios that can include both traditional and alternative asset classes. We have one of the broadest product offerings in Canada, with deep investment capabilities in almost all asset classes, enabling us to meet the needs of these institutional investors.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Product Specialist will represent the CC&L Multi-Asset Institutional Portfolio offering as a subject matter expert across all the firm’s investment strategies. Reporting to one of CC&LFG’s Managing Directors, this person will be directly responsible for servicing institutional clients and will also contribute to selling, business management and portfolio compliance activities. We are an entrepreneurial organization and this is a growing product line. The Product Specialist should have a genuine passion for the asset management industry, be able to understand what defines business success and to think like an owner of the Multi-Asset product offering.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage all aspects of client service including reporting, meetings, relationship building, billing, and working across the CC&LFG organization to address queries, prepare analysis and coordinate capital calls.
Partner with sales, the prospect and their consultant to support business development activities; client onboarding; and to confirm the asset mix, fees, rebalancing guidelines, and product/vehicle selections for each prospect.
Contribute to responding to RFPs, developing and maintaining marketing materials, and participate in sales presentations, as needed.
Prepare materials for and attend management committee meetings to represent the Multi-Asset product offering.
Monitor asset mix and other portfolio constraints; analyze and approve portfolio rebalancing transactions and cash flow needs of clients.
At least 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in investment management or investment consulting. Investor relations/client servicing or investment product specialist experience is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of asset classes (public markets, infrastructure and real estate) and portfolio construction considerations of institutional investors.
Ability to develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with key client and internal service delivery stakeholders.
Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
Ability to travel as required to service clients across the country.
Undergraduate business degree; CFA designation is highly desirable; MBA or graduate degree or CA/CPA designation is an asset.
