Are you a passionate, bright and highly organized self-starter looking to join a hardworking team in a diversely successful organization? The Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund (ATRF) is looking for an Investment Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team located in Edmonton, Alberta.  

Established in 1939, the Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund Board (ATRF) has provided exceptional administration for the Teachers’ Pension Plans for Alberta for over 80 years. ATRF takes pride in delivering the highest quality service to more than 80,000 plan members.

Reporting to the Controller, this position provides financial, accounting and reporting services to the organization. The Investment Accountant will primarily focus on investment accounting responsibilities including (but not limited to) recording of ATRF’s investment transactions and holdings, accounting entries for publicly traded and private investments, ensuring compliance of tax and regulatory reporting requirements for investments, as well as maintaining accurate records for ATRF’s subsidiaries. Additionally, this position will provide support to the overall finance functions and reporting requirements for the organization.

Qualifications, Experience and Capabilities:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting
  • Pursuit or completion of an accounting or finance designation (CPA, CFA) will be considered an asset
  • Three to five years of related experience in a financial or investment environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
