Job Purpose / Job Objective
  • Provide analytical support to the Risk & Portfolio Construction Officer and Chief Risk Officer in relation to the regulated funds and the portfolio management services managed and overseen by the firm and to participate in the development of risk and data processes.

Responsibilities
  • Daily monitoring and reporting of risk limits:
  • Running of risk reports covering:
    • Market exposure risk
    • Credit exposure risk
    • Asset Liquidity
    • Stress and Scenario Testing
  • Develop risk reports and processes
  • Preparation of risk reports for the firms Funds Risk Committee and the Investment Oversight Committee
  • Identify ways to present the risk data in formats which draw attention to key changes and promote assimilation of data by the recipient
  • Design and production of ad-hoc reports
  • Conduct research connected with new products or projects
  • Assist with data and fund statistics reporting as required

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities, etc.

Education
  • Relevant Degree (or experience accepted in lieu of qualification)
  • CFA Charterholder (or level 1, 2 and studying for)

Experience / Knowledge
  • Experience working in an investment management or other financial environment covering market risk management
  • Knowledge of equity, fixed income and derivative instruments

Skills
  • Very strong mathematical, analytical and numeracy skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively - both internally and externally
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to plan own workload effectively as well as strong organisational and planning skills
  • Understanding of regulatory environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
