Position Summary:

Nuveen is seeking a talented and experienced Product Manager to support the product management and development efforts associated with the Municipal Bond and Preferred Securities product lines. The individual will support the head of Product Management and Development for Municipal Bonds and Preferred Securities in the creation and management of product, promotion, communication, distribution strategies, and programs designed to achieve business objectives. The Product Manager will interact with Nuveen business units, including Portfolio Management; National Accounts; Distribution; Marketing; Investment Oversight; Legal and Compliance; Operations and Fund Accounting in supporting the product lines product management and development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the management of product/business aspects for Nuveens Municipal Bond and Preferred Securities product line serving as a product line expert

Maintain the product life cycle within multiple wrappers (OEF/SMA/IMA/UCITS) and be able to lead products from concept to launch through growth and maturity phases; including proposing and vetting ideas for new products, repositioning or mergers/closures

Provide comprehensive issue ownership, resolution and consultation on all related product matters including but not limited to pricing strategy, advisory agreement terms, static and dynamic product data, portfolio event management, trading and operational details

Actively monitor competitive environment, including performance and ratings to determine key issues and trends; proactively recommend actions needed to maintain and improve market position

Compose competitive analysis, including review of marketing materials, and provide recommendations for core positioning and product messaging with various distribution channels

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Portfolio Management, National Accounts, Sales and Distribution, Marketing, Investment Oversight, Legal and Compliance, Operations and Fund Accounting; stay informed on investment issues; work with Nuveen constituents to package and deliver information for internal / external communications

Qualifications:

Required:

At least 3-7 years of relevant work experience in the asset management / financial services industry, with direct experience in product management and development or similar roles

Bachelors degree required. MBA, CFA, CAIA and/or CFP, or progress towards, a plus

Proficient with systems including Morningstar Direct, Evestment, SIMFund, Market Metrics, as well as SharePoint/Office suite of applications, including the ability to rapidly develop professional PowerPoint presentations and in-depth analysis in Excel

Preferred:

Possess a blend of strong quantitative and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively

Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without formal authority

Possess strong organizational and project management skills
