The Senior Security Master Specialist is part of, andprovides direction and oversight to a team whichsupports Mellon Investment Corp, a multi-asset investment boutique ofthe Bank of New York Mellon. The team is responsible for setting up securities andmaintaining related analytic, compliance, and reference data. Mellon iscurrently in the process of transitioning from theCharles River trading platform to the Aladdin platform and has a mix ofBloomberg and Refinitiv security masters, but maintenance within the downstream accounting platforms and datastores (Advent Geneva, Portia, Eagleas well as proprietary SQL and Oracle databases) isalso required. The team is responsible for data such as issuer structure,variable rates, accrual parameters, yield, duration, and ratings. Daily tasksinclude security setup, monitoring receipt of automated feeds, reviewingexception reports, researching discrepancies, and responding to ad-hocrequests. Many duties are time sensitive and high risk so dutyre-prioritization and high pressure situations are frequent occurrences. In addition the duties mentioned above, the candidate should be comfortableperforming research using large sets of data and be able to assist in projectrelated tasks such as requirements gathering and testing.

Qualifications

  • A qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of industry experience with a broad selection of asset classes, preferably in a security master related role.
  • Progress towards CFA is desired but not required.
  • The candidate should be detail oriented, thorough, and possesses strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • The candidate must be able to perform in a high pressure environment that requires the ability to re-prioritize their focus quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, but intermediate or advanced Excel and/or Access skills are highly desirable.
  • Experience with Bloomberg is preferred.
