Position Description:

Senior Research Analyst, Opportunistic and Distressed Corporate Credit (Public Markets)

We are seeking a Senior Research Analyst focused on scalable public markets, opportunistic credit (long ideas generally) in the bank loan and high yield space, generating and working through ideas that will fit a variety of vehicles. This individual will work with Portfolio Managers across the firm across Credit, GCOF, BRAVO. We need a flexible thinker, and someone who is able to roll up one's sleeves and engage with companies/advisors/other debtholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Source differentiated investment ideas in leverage loan and high yield bond space, including both secondary trades and proprietary primary transactions.
● Analyze and underwrite complex corporate credit investments with meaningful total return opportunity that derives from structural issues and/or fundamental industry issues
● Drive negotiation and documentation of customized new issue and light restructurings
● Interact extensively across the public desk with portfolio managers/traders to implement strategies

Role can be based in Newport Beach or New York.

Position Requirements:

● Minimum of 8 years experience investing in U.S. leveraged finance / corporate credit in public markets
● Prior established relationships with restructuring community (both advisory firms and other buy-side firms) to drive idea flow as well as ease execution of ideas where collaboration with other debt holders is required or desirable
● Must have comfort with legal and structural elements of leveraged corporate capital structures, including key elements of loan documentation and bond indentures
