Responsibilities
Skills and Experience
- Support the Strategy Delivery team in the ongoing delivery of the DB and DC asset allocation solution
- Supports, manages and advances the scheme Portfolio Management Software (Jacobi) and assists in its ongoing development.
- Support for the asset allocation process for both the DB and DC sections of the scheme; liaison with other teams, including operations and control functions
- Supports rebalancing/transition programmes across DB and DC with individual dealing/operation desks as appropriate.
- Alongside the wider ISA function, assists in the development of existing and new initiatives to evolve the asset allocation process across the entire portfolio
- Supports the development of a robust Mifid-compliant process is in place for the ongoing management of target exposures and investment instructions submitted to the dealing team
- Developing and documenting policies and procedures for the Strategy Delivery function within ISA, linking with Compliance, Dealing and Operations.
- Provides periodic reporting on Strategy Delivery activities to team meetings and USSIM/USS committees as when required
Skills and Experience
- Strong coding skills, with a focus on advanced Python coding.
- Excellent analytical skills - able to pick up new and challenging concepts and able to provide clear solutions
- Intellectual curiosity - willingness and ability to investigate and develop new ideas and investment strategies
- Ability to deliver high quality work under constrained timelines
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify and solve modelling issues prior to wider communication.
- Strong writing skills; including formalisation and documentation of technical investment processes
- Competent at prioritisation, process organisation, and management of multiple workstreams
- Strong compliance culture and high personal ethics
- CFA qualified or equivalent professional qualification preferable
