Our client is a leading global natural resources group of some 35 companies across mining & metals, energy, agri, financial services and ports/logistics. The Capital Markets Team supports group strategic transactions including M&A, corporate development, transaction structuring as well as offering advisory services to its smaller clients. My client is looking to add to the team at Vice President level:
Responsibilities:
The VP Capital Markets and M&A plays a key role in Group strategic transactions and external growth operations by supporting the origination, analysis and execution of Capital Markets and M&A deals.
Carries out commercial due diligence processes and economic feasibility analysis.
Prepares and evaluates complex financial models and prepares/presents investment cases.
Trains, mentors and supervises team of analysts
Liaises with other team members and wider Group contacts on Capital Markets and M&A transactions.
Leads the integration process on any acquisitions.
Supports the Group Executive Head on strategic growth plans and risk mitigation.
Acts as the focal point for and project manages external M&A advisors.
Candidate profile:
Strong Degree and ideally ACA or CFA qualified and M&A transactional experience ideally within sectors including ports/terminals/logistics, metals & mining, agribusiness.
A track record of analysing competitive landscapes, finding acquisition targets, performing valuations, assessing strategic fit and integrating acquired companies.
Excellent analytical and technical skills, strong command of accounting and M&A concepts and ability to create complex financial models in Excel.
Ability to grasp complex commercial issues quickly.
Strong command of M&A valuation and financial analyses, including discounted cash flow, accretion / dilution, and public and precedent transaction analysis.
Ability to lead due diligence processes
Candidates with mining & metals experience in Project Finance Advisory would also be of interest.
