Lead and mentor a high-performing team to help clients execute complex M&A and capital market transactions and support them across the deal life cycle.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Associate Director or Director you will spend your time performing detailed financial analysis (i.e. financial due diligence and forecast reviews) and preparing reports/ presentations for senior management and boards. Your talent in negotiation and influencing is sure to grow as you participate in business development and relationship building programs.

This role will also provide the opportunity to:
  • Drive the delivery of engagements through financial due diligence as well as preparation of data-centric analysis and dashboards
  • Work directly with the Partners in more complex areas of transaction structuring and the accounting and taxation implications of alternate structures
  • Mentor and coach a team of talented M&A practitioners
  • Set yourself a career path with clear and honest visibility around progression

About the team

Our M&A Transaction Services team make sellers' lives easier by providing due diligence information, transaction related accounting and tax advice, reviewing sale and purchase agreements. Our supportive team turns clients' frustration into assurance with sophisticated and tailored M&A advice. Our clients include Australian private and listed corporates, global enterprises, private equity firms and Government.

Our Sydney based team regularly draws on the capabilities of our colleagues in other parts of M&A and from across the firm to provide multi-disciplinary insights to our clients, supporting them throughout the transaction lifecycle. This is enhanced by our embedded data analytics platform, iDeal, within our core offering that provides detailed insights for both our corporate and private equity clients.

What impact have we made?

As a part of our team, you will share with us in our proudest moments.
  • We helped an association of prominent Asian private equity and investment firms acquire a large consumer product business. We performed analysis of maintainable earnings, organic growth, recent revenue & cost trends and assisted in accounting aspects of the SPA
  • We helped one of the world's largest infrastructure fund managers to acquire a renewable energy business with assets across Asia Pacific. This involved advising on all facets of the transaction (i.e. financial & tax diligence, modelling analysis around cash extraction, SPA negotiation and deal structuring).

Enough about us, let's talk about you.

You are an accounting / finance professional with:
  • An Undergraduate degree in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Post graduate qualification (eg. CA, CPA, CFA, MBA or Masters in Applied Finance)
  • Structured thinking style with analytical and financial skills to support complex transactions
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and concepts
  • Experience in performing financial due diligence assignments in a transaction environment or business combination experience gained through the audit of acquisitive businesses
  • Professional report writing skills
  • Coaching, mentoring and team management skills
  • Exposure to or interest in the broader deal/ transaction process and environment
